In this short video, IMDb tries to answer: where the hell was Batman?
Plot
After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, is trying to take over Gotham City’s criminal underworld. Aside from a Bat-signal in the season finale, we never got a glimpse of Robert Pattinson in The Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but he didn’t succeed.

However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo.
They would have been just as good
The Graham Norton Show will feature: Lady Gaga / Demi Moore / Colin Farrell / Richard Ayoade / Jack Savoretti (2024). I thought Colin Farrell was a great Penguin in Batman, but I never understood why they took a skinny, good-looking actor and put a huge prosthetic on him and put a thick suit on him… especially when I think he looks like other famous actors.
But I didn’t expect to like it this much
I also didn’t understand why this separation was made, and frankly, I’m tired of Batman reboots. But after watching episode 1, I can confirm that this episode is awesome (so far). I only watched it because it was a necessary bridge between the first and second movies, and to my surprise, I saw Farrell in the first one.
What I liked most was that there was a lot more color here than in Batman
The acting is great, the writing is great, and I was surprised by some of the quick twists. I noticed this almost immediately, because that was a big complaint for me about the movie (it felt like I was watching it through Zack Snyder’s lens). I hope it continues to be as good as it has been because I really can’t wait until the next episode.
