Plot
It follows a world of intrigue and deception, where characters must fight their own battles and deal with existential threats to the nation and the world. From “X-Men: First Class” and “The Acolyte” to “The Cotton Club,” check out the TV and film roles of “The Agency” stars Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Richard Gere, and more. A case officer is declared an agent (or informant, or confidential informant) through the use of the acronym MICE, which stands for: MoneyIdeologyCompromise (aka blackmail)Ego.
Blake, the acronym “OBE” is incorrectly explained as “Overtaken By Events” In US
government agencies, including the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, the correct/official explanation of the acronym “OBE” is “Overwhelmed by Events.” The opening credits present the characters and scenes from the series interspersed with panes of mirrors. Former CIA Director of Counterintelligence James Jesus Angleton, also known as the “Poet Spy,” described the intelligence game as a “wilderness of mirrors,” a phrase borrowed from a poem by T.S. Eliot called Gerontion (the title is Greek for “little old man,” and the poem is an interior monologue giving the opinions and impressions of an elderly man, describing post-World War I Europe through the eyes of a man who spent most of his life in the 19th century).
I give the acting overall 8/10
In the world of intelligence, in the search for truth, it is hard to distinguish between reality and its image, an illusion if you will, as if one were in a “hall of mirrors.” As seen on The Graham Norton Show: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). The highlight of The Agency is Michael Fassbender, a great actor and convincing in his role as a field agent who comes home undercover after so long. Even the minor characters have done a good job so far (apart from those smallest characters trying to be clever).
The soundtrack is good
The story is nothing new, but several plot threads are interwoven and by the end of the 2nd episode you are still not sure where they will lead, so it’s good to be unpredictable. Nice touch with the song “Love is Blindness”. You can see that a decent budget was invested here, of course it’s obvious with movie actors, but even more so because of the locations chosen and the way some of the action sequences were shot.
It seemed like a good movie
I enjoyed it a lot, but maybe I’m biased, Michael Fassbender is one of my favorite actors. I’m looking forward to the next one.
