Tale
A grieving therapist begins to tell his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives – including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” shares the best moments that defined their characters in Season 1 and reveals who did the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the series, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and was going to audition with people like Ford.

Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least bring it up to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn it down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was being brought in for the project, which sparked interest from other notable actors. Eventually, Goldstein spoke with Ford and sold him on the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince her, but was thrilled nonetheless.
This is pure fun
Sharply written, great lines, enough pathos to keep it from becoming the Big Bang Theory for the middle classes, a joy to watch. Yes, real therapists wouldn’t behave like this, but anyone with a functioning brain cell would know that criticism from this perspective is just negativity for the sake of ratings. Are some of the characters stereotypes?
A complete revelation and a show worth watching just for him
Yes, but no offense intended, and no one should be taken, I knew, I worked with a gay man who was exactly the stereotype that is being portrayed here. The real success here is combining the seriousness of therapy and grief with the growing pains of life at different ages, stages, and lifestyles, and making it funny. Finally, who knew what a great light-hearted comedic actor Harrison Ford is?
