The cable was cut so i found this by accident
Plot
Follows a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts who use the town’s sudden interest in the occult to build a reputation as a satanic metal band until a strange series of events sparks a witch hunt that leads back to them. All episode titles are from songs by heavy metal/hard rock bands. Hysteria by Def Lepard, Heaven’s on fire by KISS, Speaking in tongues by Meatloaf, Can I play with madness by Iron Maiden, Die young by Black Sabbath, Mother by Danzig, It’s late by Queen and Dance Macabre by Ghost..
The parents are what you’d expect from an 80s TV show
The Peacock isn’t my usual streamer, but I got a good price for it. Anyway, I wasn’t expecting much, but I love a good horror comedy and this was better than expected. I like that it’s set in the 80s because it gives it a “leave it to the beaver” vibe; feel it.
The second story is that all the adults go into frothy religious hysteria (get it) over their kids
When a teenage soccer star goes missing and is later found in what appears to be a ritual death, two stories begin to run in parallel. Three outcasts who have a hard rock band that no one attends decide to use it as a way to get publicity for their band. They convince everyone that they are Satanists, which works for a moment, but then they make them prime suspects in the murder.
The two main characters are Linda and Tracy
Tracy is a good villain in this, as she is perfectly willing to use Linda’s fear of not understanding her son and his choices as a way to whip the town into hysteria. The series is not perfect, but it says interesting things about the fear of parents not understanding their children when they do not follow the plan for them. But it also shows that there is real danger masked in fear and paranoia.
