Miami, 1991. When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he goes from student to vengeful serial killer under the guidance of his father Harry… ‘Dexter’ shares the same birthday as Michael C. Hall, February 1, 1971. In episode 4, Blockbuster employee Deb and her friend wear navy blue short-sleeved shirts as part of their uniform. In 1991, employees wore light blue long-sleeved shirts. Short sleeves weren’t worn until 4-5 years later. Dexter: Resurrection (2025) followed. I went into this with pretty low expectations and was mostly just excited about Resurrection. The first episode started off a bit shaky with the editing and the CGI cop car, and I thought, “Oh boy, this is going to suck.” I was eating crow by the end of the first episode because the actors were great at portraying their characters and the story showed great promise. While we already know most of the story, the first episode had a few surprises that further solidified some of the characters we’ve come to know and love, and added a little context to the decisions those characters make. Just one episode in and I’m hooked!
