James Gunn picked up the “CREATURE COMMANDOS” before taking over at DC
It follows a group of military superhumans, consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, a Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn then greenlit the project himself when he became CEO of DC Studios.
He appeared in AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The Return of the King (2023)
The series’ writer and creator, James Gunn, is featured in the opening credits with a laptop writing a script. .

I’ve always loved the DC universe, and while I think the DCEU has been overly hated, I’ve been very disappointed in several DCEU projects. This series has fantastic characters and is extremely creative.
I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and TV shows have become too generic, that’s his point
There have been so many superhero movies in the last decade that when people see a new one, they don’t go to the cinema because they think “another superhero movie genius, there’s been too many”; like they don’t care, just a generic action movie (especially the sequels) I think James Gunn is really turning things around and I can’t wait. I also think that because Marvel has been so much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters that have been overlooked (by the fans) and I think that if DC can do everything right in the next few years, the lesser known characters will do well at the box office as long as they can grab people’s attention and really feel special about them.

But yeah, that was a great start and it’s only going to get better from here.. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
