Plot
At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan transforms his folk-music act, going electric, and reclaims rock as the voice of a generation, defining one of the most seminal moments in 20th-century music. The footage of the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan first performed publicly with an electric guitar, was filmed at the seaside resort of Cape May, New Jersey. Minimal compensation was necessary, given the resort’s commitment to designation as a National Historic Landmark due to its concentration of Victorian and other 19th- and 20th-century architectural motifs.
